City and Guilds Training Opportunity
Green Synergy is delighted to be able to offer a fully funded City and Guilds Training course and qualification in Horticulture.
A Level 2 Award in work-based Horticulture. The course is 5 weeks in length and a commitment of 3 days a week.
Course commences on 27th October 2022 and the training will take place at Green Synergy’s Hillside Community Garden and Ellie’s Memorial Garden.
Level 2 Award in Work-based Horticulture
This course covers the following elements:
- The course will cover the maintenance of ornamental areas and use of the main tools for outdoor gardening.
- It is aimed at those new to horticulture or who are amateur gardeners and want to get a hands-on professional qualification.
- The qualification will enable learners to work as self-employed gardeners or be employed by landscaping companies.
- The course is practical, and students are mostly assessed while they work, plus some homework in the form of questionnaires.
- It will run Tuesday to Thursday for 5 weeks from 10am to 3pm. Attending all sessions is a requirement to get the qualification.
- Start dates: 27/10
- End date: 2/12
- Proof of unemployment is a requirement to enrol, however, there are limited places for those employed wanting a career change
- In addition to this qualification, learners will also get a PA1/PA6, First aid, manual handling, fire safety and strimming certificates. This package will be offered upon completion of the course.

- You must be over 17 years old.
- You must be able to attend all course dates.
