Green Synergy achieves Cyber Essentials Certification

Green Synergy is proud to announce that the charity has been certificated for Cyber Essentials for 2023-2024.

What is Cyber Essentials?

Cyber Essentials is a simple but effective, Government backed scheme that will help Green Synergy to protect our organisation against a whole range of the most common cyber-attacks. Our charity has been supported by Cyber Lab and The IASME Consortium Ltd to work towards this certificatio0n

Cyber-attacks come in many shapes and sizes, but the vast majority are very basic in nature, carried out by relatively unskilled individuals. They’re the digital equivalent of a thief trying your front door to see if it’s unlocked. Our advice is designed to prevent these attacks.

There are two levels of certification: Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus.

Cyber Essentials

The self-assessment option supported by CyberLab has provided Green Synergy with protection against a wide variety of the most common cyber-attacks. This is important because vulnerability to simple attacks can mark organisations out as target for more in-depth unwanted attention from cyber criminals and others.

Certification gives our charity the peace of mind that our defences will protect against the vast majority of common cyber-attacks simply because these attacks are looking for targets which do not have the Cyber Essentials technical controls in place.

Cyber Essentials supports Green Synergy to manage how to address these basics and prevent the most common attacks.

Why do Green Synergy have Cyber Essentials?

Certified cyber security enables us to:

  • Reassure young people and partners that Green Synergy are working to secure our IT against cyber attack.
  • Green Synergy has a clear picture of our organisation’s cyber security level.
  • Some Government contracts require Cyber Essentials certification.
  • Attract new opportunities with the promise we have cyber security measures in place.
