Green Synergy is delighted to share the wonderful news that Janice Schlanker has been recognised for her amazing community volunteering with the Portland Street Garden Project by BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s Make a Difference Awards.
BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s Make a Difference awards recognise individuals who makes a real difference to the community by giving up their time voluntarily to help out a charity or good cause.
Janice has been a real community champion is getting the Portland Street Garden project off the ground and galvanising community support to make Portland Street more beautiful with garden planters and activities and supported by Sage Gardener.
Green Synergy is delighted to be supporting and working with Janice on Phase 2 of the Portland Street Gardens project.
Janice spoke about her joy in receiving this award:
“Winning this award is truly such an honour for myself and more importantly all of the people involved in this project.
There is such a negative view of the area and we wanted to show a different side to this community. When people work together to create something that has such a positive impact on so many, not just people but the benefits for urban wildlife, it’s a very special thing. It has been an honour and a privilege to work with so many fantastic people along the way and we are very proud of what we have achieved . We also hope to continue working and expanding our ideas in the future.
This award is in honour of every single person involved in bringing this vision to life. They are all amazing.”
