Green Synergy is delighted to launch our new community engagement project Branching Out which is kindly funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
Branching Out is a four year community and organisational development project enabling Green Synergy to continue to develop organisationally, deliver a range of community engagement events and programmes, to build our sustainability and to increase access to gardening, horticultural and community activities.
The new funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, which distributes money raised by National Lottery players for good causes and is the largest funder of community activity in the UK, will see our Branching Out project team working with 4,500 participants per year increasing to 5,470 participants by year four of the project. The project also aims to reduce isolation and create a sense of community ownership and care by bringing people together in green spaces; increase volunteers’ skills and confidence and extend Green Synergy’s reach into under-served communities in Lincoln and Lincolnshire through attendance at events.
The project is enabling the charity to increase our capacity for managing and coordinating events, activities and projects to increase reach. The project importantly seeks to increase our reach, visitors, networking, partnerships and engagement with our local communities in Lincoln through the development of our community gardens. Branching Out also aims to increase community cohesion, support under-served communities, reduce isolation and improve people’s mental and physical health.
